Prior to arriving to Moberly, Lolio spent his last 4 years at Tennessee Tech University in Cookeville, Tennessee learning under the Kentucky legend, Coach John Pelphrey. Throughout his time there Lolio saw his role change many times. As a graduate assistant Lolio lead player development, helped with practice plans and execution, was video coordinator, executed opponent scouting, and aided in day-to-day tasks for each coach. During his time as an assistant Lolio helped see the Golden Eagles turn their program around with most recently making the conference tournament championship game.

Lolio has spent his past couple summers working as an intern for the Los Angeles Media Fund Sports Agency (LAMF), formerly known as Beyond Athlete. He also served as a Player Development Coach under Steph Martinez who owns DigDeepBasketball. Michael Lolio got his start in college as a member of the Florida Gator basketball team learning under Coach Mike White. This is the team that made the run to Elite Eight in the NCAA Tournament (2016-2017). Following the year Lolio transferred to Lee College (2017-2019) in Baytown, Texas playing under Coach Marcus King and Coach Roy Champagne. Here he was team captain for two years and helped various members on the team with individual workouts such as J’Von McComrick, who played on Auburn’s Final Four team, and Shawn Montague who now plays professionally in Austrailia. Lolio finished his playing career at Tennessee Tech before transitioning to a coaching role.

Michael Lolio earned an associate’s degree from Lee College (Baytown, TX) then continued to earn a bachelor’s degree from Tennessee Tech University.
