#21 Ranked MACC Greyhounds to Host Southeastern Iowa
The Moberly Area Community College Men's Basketball Team will host long-time opponent Southeastern Iowa CC on Saturday, November 22, at the Fitzsimmons-John Arena. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m.
The Greyhounds currently hold a 6–1 record and are ranked No. 21 in the latest NJCAA poll. MACC recently competed in the Midwest JUCO Challenge in Burlington, Iowa, where they defeated Highland (IL) 79–60 and pulled out a tough 76–75 win over Sauk Valley (IL). The Hounds then traveled to Belleville, Illinois, and posted a 97–83 victory over Southwestern Illinois CC.
Moberly also participated in the State Fair Classic in Sedalia, where they suffered their first loss of the season—falling to NJCAA Division II No. 1–ranked Kirkwood CC (Iowa) 68–69 on a last-second three-pointer. The team bounced back in the finale with an 87–66 win over West Iowa Tech.
"So far, it's been a good start to our season with six quality wins and one loss we can learn a lot from," said Coach Patrick Smith. "The journey and objectives never change. We are seeking continual improvement and striving to reach the next level of team development. There must be a greater level of consistency in our play and continued understanding of what we must individually and collectively work to achieve. We have to eliminate bad and lost possessions where we break down defensively or don't get what we want on offense.
"Starting Saturday against a very strong SE Iowa squad, we have a highly competitive remaining first-semester schedule, and our players are looking forward to the challenges ahead."
