MACC GREYHOUNDS DEFEAT WEST PLANS 88-62
#17 Greyhounds host #16 Indian Hills Tuesday
The Moberly Area Community College Men's Basketball Team defeated Missouri State-West Plains 88-72 this past Saturday at the Fitzsimmons-John Arena. Moberly jumped out to a 52-35 halftime lead and the lead never got below 13 points the second half. Tekao Carpenter lead Moberly in scoring with 28 points (8-13 from 3 point range) while Akili Evans scored 19 points with 13 rebounds and 6 assists, with Xavier Sykes adding 12 points and 7 assists with zero turnovers.
"It was a solid, do what you have to do type of performance," said Coach Patrick Smith, "We played well at times and at other times we were inconsistent. However, our players took care of business and now it's onto a very good Indian Hills squad. We are excited about this game between two ranked teams outside our respective regions."
The #17 nationally ranked Moberly Greyhounds will host #16 ranked Indian Hills on Tuesday, February 13 at 7:00 pm. Moberly currently stands 19-5 on the season with their 17th victory in their last 20 contests.
