After a back and forth second half, Mineral had one last spurt that Moberly could not answer and eventually losing 58-67. Cooper lead Moberly in scoring with 16 points while Cameron Williams added 10 points.
"The game against Mineral Area showed the need to be better and more consistent at everything we do," said Coach Patrick Smith, "We had our moments but we've got to get better at our total execution to get over that hurdle. However, I'm very pleased with how we came back the last two games and played two of our best games of the season. It's all about how you play in February going down the stretch into post season and our team has such great opportunities at this time of the season. We're 16-3 in our last 19 games and there's a fine line in being the team that can beat our best opponents and that is what we are chasing."
The #18 NJCAA Nationally ranked Greyhounds will return to action this Saturday, February 10 when they host the West Plain Grizzlies at 7 pm at the Fitzsimmons-John Arena. Moberly currently stands 18-5 on the season with a 5-2 region record along with 9-2 in the MCCAC.
