MACC GREYHOUNDS DEFEAT JOHN A. LOGAN 90-54 IN ST. LOUIS SHOOTOUT

Moberly ranked 16th in latest NJCAA Rankings

The Moberly Area Community College Men's Basketball Team defeated defending National Champ John A. Logan 90-54 in the St. Louis Community College Shootout this past Sunday. After a back and forth first half, the Greyhounds went on a 15-6 run to close out the first half and grab a 41-31 halftime lead. Moberly then came out to start the second half on a 21-2 run and cruise to the victory behind a very balanced attack. Sophomore wing Freddie Cooper lead the Hounds with 16 points(4 dunks) while Freshman post Cameron Williams had 10 points and 9 rebounds as Moberly had 8 players with 8 or more points.

"Tremendous team victory," said Coach Patrick Smith, " WE had a week off to practice after the very tough Vincennes loss and I felt it was very productive in terms of our player and system development. We had a chance to self-scout and improve in some areas we need to elevate and I thought our players carried those practice traits to the playing floor on Sunday. WE've had such a challenging schedule but that has presented an objective view of where we stand as a team and presented great opportunities to analyze and improve."

Moberly currently stands 7-3 on the season with their 5th victory in the last 6 games. The Greyhounds are ranked number 16 in the latest NJCAA National Poll and will return to action this Thursday, November 7 as they play at Southwestern Illinois Comm. College(Belleville, IL.) at 7 pm.
