MACC GREYHOUNDS BASKETBALL WINNING STREAK AT 3 GAMES
#12 National Ranking for Greyhounds
The Moberly Area Community College Men's Basketball Team extended their winning streak to three games during the past week as they improved their overall record to 5-2. In the State Fair Classic on Nov. 17-18 in Sedalia, Moberly defeated North Platte(Neb.) CC 91-70 on Saturday behind 19 points by 6'3" Sophomore wing Tekao Carpenter(3-5 from three point range), 16 points by 6'8" Freshman forward Cameron Williams, 14 point by 6'6" freshman wing Isaiah Robinson, 11 points by sophomore point guard Jaleen Goodman and 10 points by 6'5" Sophomore wing Akili Evans. North Platte currently stands 4-3 on the season.
In the opening game of the classic, Moberly jumped to an early lead and defeated Kansas City (KS.) CC by the final score of 98-64. 6'3" Sophomore wing Freddie Cooper lead the Hounds with a game high 24 points(5-10 from behind the arc) while Cameron Williams added 16 points(7-9 from the field) with Carpenter contributing 12 points. KCK fell to 4-3 with the loss.
Moberly currently stands 5-2 on the season and was ranked #12 in the latest NJCAA National Rankings. The Greyhounds will return to action in the MACC Thanksgiving Classic on November 24 as they host Highland CC at 7:00 pm. Other participating teams in the classic are State Fair and #6 nationally ranked Vincennes.
