Greyhound Baseball Dugout Club

Hello My Friends,

A new tradition is happening at Moberly Area Community College. Baseball is starting for the 2022 and 2023 seasons. Excitement is an understatement for bringing new student-athletes to our community. We couldn’t more thrilled to bring baseball to Moberly and able to compete in the tough Region 16.

As you can imagine, we are busy gearing up for MACC Baseball in 2022-2023. Our ultimate goal is to give our student- athletes the best possible collegiate experience they can have. We want them to carry themselves with pride. We want them to present themselves in a first-class manner and always uphold the tradition of success that MACC has established over the years.

We understand that families and businesses have been negatively affected by the pandemic, but getting back to a more normal life we are humbly asking for your support of our new baseball program. With your support we will be able to provide a first-class atmosphere for the student-athletes – apparel, training equipment, travel, meals, uniforms, etc. Donations are tax deductible to the extent of the law, minus the fair market value of items received.

From our administration to our coaching staff, and more importantly, our student-athletes, we fully recognize that the many things we will do for our programs will come from your assistance. We in Greyhound Nation understand that you have numerous choices regarding where your donation dollars go. With that in mind, we hope you will consider us a viable option. We would love to have you as a member of our Greyhound Baseball Family and we appreciate your consideration.

Thank You and GO GREYHOUNDS

Coach Fletcher

Christopher Fletcher has been named the inaugural Baseball Coach of the MACC Greyhound Baseball Program at Moberly Area Community College (MACC). A native of Moberly, Fletcher is a 2008 graduate of Moberly High School. Following his playing career at Moberly High School, Fletcher played collegiate baseball at North Central Missouri College (2009-10) and William Woods University (2010-12).

As Head Greyhound Baseball Coach, Fletcher will begin competitive NJCAA Division II play during the 2022-23 school year. Fletcher has served as Head Baseball Coach at William Woods University since 2019 after serving as Assistant Coach there from 2015-19. As a graduate assistant at William Woods University (2014-15), he was part of a Conference Championship team and was the assistant coach at Truman State University, where the Bulldogs were regional champions along with qualifying for the World Series.

Additionally, Coach Fletcher has coached summer league baseball in the Lewis and Clark League (2013), Northwoods League (Thunder Bay Canada in 2014), Prospect League (Hannibal Caveman in 2015) and MINK League (Jeff City Renegades in 2017).

“We are just so excited to begin college baseball at MACC and expand our student experience, along with campus atmosphere,” said MACC Athletic Director Patrick Smith, “We had an outstanding pool of candidates, but Chris just stood out on his baseball knowledge, success as collegiate baseball coach and tremendous enthusiasm along with vision for our program. I’m very appreciative to Dr. Lashley and our Board of Trustees for this addition to our athletic program and looking forward to the leadership of Chris Fletcher as we begin this journey.”

“I am beyond excited to get back to the Moberly community and start the Greyhound baseball program,” said Coach Fletcher, “I started my baseball life in Moberly and now have the opportunity to start collegiate baseball in my hometown. It’s going to be nice to be back with lifelong friends and be around our families more often. My family and I couldn’t be more excited to wear red and be Greyhounds!”

Chris Fletcher and his wife Rachael have two children: Brooks (3) and Baylor (5).
