GREYHOUND SOFTBALL PINK OUT GAME

GREYHOUND SOFTBALL PINK OUT GAME

On Saturday, April 13th, the Greyhounds held their annual Pink Out Game to raise awareness for Breast Cancer. This event is held in conjunction with the local Run 4 Her Life Organization. Lori Turk from the organization spoke briefly about the importance of knowing your body and being aware of potential signs of breast cancer and other types of cancer. She also talked about the devastating effects it has not only on the person fighting the battle but also on their families, especially when they lose the battle.

Each year, we recognize an individual, with the help of the Run 4 Her Life Organization, who is fighting breast cancer and honor them by having them throw out the first pitch. Last year, Katie Brockmeier was recognized and threw out the first pitch. She was a young lady battling breast cancer, but unfortunately, she lost her battle this past August. This year, her husband Dustin and her two little girls threw out the first pitch in remembrance of her.
