MACC GREYHOUNDS EXTEND WINNING STREAK TO 12 GAMES

#7 ranked Hounds host St. Louis CC tonight

The NJCAA 7th ranked Moberly Area Community College Men's Basketball Team extended their winning streak to 12 games with three recent victories. Moberly defeated #24 nationally ranked Mineral Area 81-50 at home on February 1, won at Three Rivers 66-45 on February 4, and went on the road to win at Missouri State-West Plains 88-81 this past Thursday. In the victory over Mineral Area, 6'7" sophomore forward Tre'von Spillers led Moberly with 23 points, 13 rebounds, and six blocked shots, while sophomore wing Tedric Washington scored 19 points, Jaheim Tanksley added 14 points, and freshman forward Brandon Hall contributed 12 points. Against Three Rivers, Spillers again led the way with 20 points, 15 rebounds, and four blocked shots, while Tanksley and Washington scored 12 and 10 points, respectively. In the win at West Plains, the Greyhounds were led by Washington with a career-high 32 points; Hall added 18 points, 6'6" freshman forward Ade Poppola scored a career-high 15 points along with ten rebounds while Spillers added 11 points, 15 rebounds, and four blocked shots.

"I am very pleased with our continued progress and willingness to compete for every game," said Coach Pat Smith, "This is the time of the season we must be stepping up in all areas of play and be willing to seek improvement individually and collectively as a unit. We must continue to have an edge about us and seek to meet the challenges ahead. We talk about being obsessed with improvement and putting all our efforts into winning the next game."

The Mineral Area and Three Rivers contests were broadcast live on ESPN Plus as part of the NJCCA Broadcast Network. Moberly improved to 22-3 with the victories and improved to 9-0 in Region 16 competition. The Greyhounds return to action tonight, February 15, with a home MCCAC Contest vs. St. Louis Community College with tip-off at 7 pm.
