MOBERLY GREYHOUNDS DEFEAT THREE RIVERS 103-74 ON ROAD

The Moberly Area CC Greyhounds jumped out to a 42-28 halftime lead and cruised to a 103-74 victory over Three Rivers CC in Poplar Bluff, Missouri on Saturday.

The Moberly Area CC Greyhounds jumped out to a 42-28 halftime lead and cruised to a 103-74 victory over Three Rivers CC in Poplar Bluff, Missouri on Saturday. Freshman guard Billy Thomas lead Moberly in scoring with 23 points(5 of 9 from three-point range) while guards Dallas Morgan(5-9 on threes) and Alonzo Verge had 21 points (7 assists) each. Sean Miler Moore added 11 points while Verge and Matlock had 8 rebounds each. Three Rivers was lead in scoring by Aiden Sanders with 23 points, Jeffrey Porter added 15 points and Cameron Maddox contributed 13 points.

Moberly improved to 20-3 with the victory and 4-0 in Region 16 as they recorded their fifth straight victory.

“It was a tremendous victory in that we got numerous contributions from each team member,” said Coach Patrick Smith, “I was especially pleased with the pace we played offense at. I always value any victory we get at Three Rivers because of the great respect I have for Coach Gene Bess and their tradition. Now it’s onto another big week and games, as everything gets more important this time of year.”

Moberly returns to action in nonregional action as they will host St. Louis Prep on Tuesday at 7:00 PM.
