The Moberly Area Community College Men’s Basketball Team will play in Highland CC(Freeport, IL) William Baer Invitational Tournament on Dec. 8-9. In the opening round on Friday, Moberly will play against Division II #13 ranked Iowa Central (10-1) at 5:00 pm. Saturday, MACC will play Marshalltown CC at 3:00 PM and then finish the tournament against host Highland CC at 7:00 pm. The event will be composed of six teams and the Greyhounds have won back-to-back titles in the tourney.

“The Highland Tourney is one of my favorite events I’ve ever participated in,” said Coach Patrick Smith, “maybe because we’ve won the last two events, but Pete Norman and Highlands simply do a great job putting this on.

We play three very good teams and we’ve got to approach it with the attitude of playing well and winning one game at a time. I’m always interested in how we finish the first semester off, on and off the court. We have the opportunity at this time to be as good as we’ve been all season, we are a work in progress and must be improving mentally and physically every day. We are looking forward to the competition this weekend.”

The Moberly Men’s Team was ranked #12 in the first NJCAA National Poll and currently are 10-1 on the season.
