The Moberly Area Comm. College Men’s Basketball Team will be participating in the William R. Bear/Highland(Ill.) Comm. College Invitational Tournament December 13-14 in Freeport, Illinois. Moberly will play Rock Valley CC at 3 pm on Friday in the quarterfinals and playing the winner/loser of the Triton-Sauk Valley game on Saturday. Other first round games in the other bracket are Highland-Marshalltown and Southeastern Iowa-Olive Harvey. Moberly has won the last four Highland Christmas Tourney Championships defeating the host Highland CC Team each season in the finals.

“This is one of the best JUCO Tournaments in the country,” said Coach Pat Smith, “With the 3 games in around 36 hours, it’s pure basketball and a real test of toughness. I take so much pride in our 4 straight titles but like I told our team yesterday, the past teams have done it one game-one possession at a time and we need to approach it the same way. Loaded field this year and we look forward to the challenges of each game. Great way to finish the first semester and prepare for the Regional Competiton we will face the second semester. We are still striving to keep improving in all areas, have really improved but must keep seeking that next level.”

Moberly is currently 9-3 on the season and ranked #29 in latest NJCAA Poll.
