6th straight win improves MACC to 22-6 on season.
The Moberly Area Community College Men’s Basketball Team defeated Missouri State-West Plains 103-60 on Saturday evening at the Fitzsimmons-John Arena. The Greyhounds jumped out to an early 14-2 lead and lead 50-27 at the half without ever being threatened in the second half. Sincere Parker lead Moberly with a game high 26 points, PG Tyren Moore added 17 points, Jimmy Bell had 16 points to go with 14 rebounds and Michael Thomas contributed 13 points. Dodson lead West Plains with 17 points while Kora added 10 points.
“I thought we did a good job of handling business tonight and doing what we had to do,” said Coach Patrick Smith, “We did not want our guys to compete just against the opponent but against our own mentality, effort and system execution. That’s basketball maturity when you play the same way no matter what the score, situation or circumstance is. Every day you are working on who and what you are as a basketball team to develop that consistency of effort and execution. It’s that time of year that you have to maximize each meeting, film session, practice and game.”
Moberly improved to 22-6 on the season and 8-3 in Regional play with their sixth consecutive victory while West Plains dropped to 10-17 on the season. MACC returns to action this Tuesday as they travel to St. Louis for a 7 pm tip off in an MCCAC contest.
