Win 6th straight to improve to 15-4 with Region victory.
The Moberly Area Community College Men’s Basketball Team defeated Missouri State-West Plains 82-60 on Wednesday evening at the Fitzsimmons-John Arena. Moberly lead 24-20 with six minutes remaining in the first half before closing the half with a 15-0 run to lead 39-20 at the half. The lead never got below 15 points the second stanza and increased to as much as 26 points. MACC was lead in scoring by 6’10” post Jimmy Bell with 23 points and 14 rebounds, 6’5” wing Sincere Parker added 16 points and point guard Tyren Moore scored 15 points. West Plains was lead in scoring by Isaiah Lewis with 16 points with Byron Brlend scoring 13 points.
“I thought on a night we didn’t shoot the ball great, we played outstanding defense and still executed offensively,” said Coach Patrick Smith, “Very proud of how our guys stayed true to our identity and culture, played tough, still defended and rebounded leading to a solid Region 16 victory. Glad we have some practice time now to self-scout, improve what we’re doing in all areas and make any tweaks we need to get ready for our tough Region 16 schedule that we will face.”
Moberly improved to 15-4 with their 6th consecutive victory and now stand 2-1 in Region 16. West Plains dropped to 7-10 with the loss and 1-1 in Regional play.
