Improve to 5-2 with road victory
The Moberly Area Comm. College Men’s Basketball Team defeated the Metroplitian CC Wolfpack 115-91 on Tuesday evening in Kansas City, Missouri. Moberly jumped out to an early 20 point lead and extended it to 58-33 at the half. The Greyhounds were lead in scoring by Alonzo Verge with 30 points, Sean Miller-Moore scored 25 points, Tahj Small added 23(5-6 from three point range) and Will Rucker scored 13 points. Isaiah Washington lead Metropolitan CC (formally Penn Valley) with 20 points and Matthew Austin added 19. Moberly improved to 5-2 on the season.
“After a couple of tough losses, great to see how our guys came out and set the tempo,” said Coach Patrick Smith, “Thought we were very aggressive and flying around on defense, moved the ball much better on offense. We are a work in progress and with the schedule in front of us, we must be progressing every day to shore up our deficient areas. However, big improvement and we need to go on from there.”
Moberly returns to action this weekend in their own Midwest Bone and Joint Classic as they host defending District IV Champion Highland CC(Ill.) on Friday at 7 pm and National Tournament participant Motlow State on Saturday night at 7 pm.
