#23 Hounds improve to 23-6
The Moberly Area Community College Men’s Basketball Team defeated Link Year Prep 103-73 on Tuesday evening at the Fitzsimmons-John Arena. Moberly jumped out to a 45-25 halftime lead and eventually stretched the lead to 36 points before coasting to the final margin. Moberly was lead in scoring by Tyrek Chambers with 24 points, Quinton Drayton had 19 points, Markelo Sullivan scored l17 points along with 14 rebounds and Eddie Creal added 16 points along with 10 rebounds.
“A very good team win, did some real positive things,” said Coach Pat Smith, “Thought the first half we really guarded and took pride in getting stops. However, didn’t come close to defending as well the second half and that’s where our inconsistency shows. Offensively we were very good and must continue to progress on the defensive end.”
Moberly currently stands 23-6 on the season, 8-1 in the MCCAC and 6-1 in Region 16 while being ranked #23 in the NJCAA National Poll. They finish their regular season at West Plains on Saturday at 7 pm.
