“Words cannot express how proud of this squad that I was,” said Coach Patrick Smith, “Early in the season, we were very average but developed into one of the best teams in the country. Obviously for health reasons the National Tournament had to be cancelled but I sincerely thought this team had a deep National Tourney run in them as well as we were playing at the end of the season. Just so many highlights but the two I’ll remember was the tremendous performance in the regional finals vs. a really good Mineral Area squad and winning the District Finals on our home court in front of our fans. Although our season was cut short and not able to pursue our Championship dreams, it’s still special to end the season winning championships. This team will always have a very special place in my heart and mind.”
