The Moberly Area Community College Lady Greyhounds arrived in Lubbock, Texas on Saturday night as they began preparations to compete in the 2018 NJCAA Division I Women’s Basketball National Tournament on Wednesday evening.
The team stayed in Oklahoma City on Friday night, arriving in Lubbock in time to utilize a 30 minute practice time on Saturday in the Rip Griffin Center, site of the national tournament.
On Sunday the team spent some down time at Main Event Lubbock, where they had the chance to relax for one day before practicing at Coronado High School on Monday morning. Members of the team bowled, played laser tag, and a variety of video games at Main Event before attending the welcome dinner for the participating teams on Sunday evening.
“It was good to spend some quality time together,” said MACC head coach Chad Killinger. “We are here to compete in the National Tournament, but after such a long trip I thought it was good to relax a little bit and not get too caught up in the magnitude of the games.”
