Lady Greyhounds head coach Hana Haden has announced the addition of 6’2 forward DeAnna Wilson to the 2019-2020 roster. Wilson is a St. Louis native who attended Cardinal Ritter Preparatory High School where she averaged 14 points and nearly 8 rebounds per contest while shooting 60% from the floor. Her senior season she was named the 3A Large Conference Player of the Year along with First Team All-Conference. Wilson led her team in points, rebounds, field goal percentage, and blocked shots with 26 on the season. The Lady Lions finished with a record of 19-4 before falling in sectionals.
Wilson was the high school teammate of Kori Tomlin, a 5’3 point guard who signed with the Lady Greyhounds in March.
Coach Haden feels that Wilson will make an immediate impact for the Lady Greyhounds. “DeAnna possesses a great combination of size, skill, athleticism, and mobility for her position. She’s an aggressive player on both ends of the floor and competes with a high motor. I love the depth she adds to our post position.”
Wilson recorded five double-doubles in her senior season. Her career high was 31 points vs Vashon High School and 15 rebounds vs Jefferson City Helias.
