18-4 record with 8 straight victories

The Moberly Area Community College Men’s Basketball Team was ranked #20 in the latest NJCAA National Poll on January 21. Moberly defeated then ranked #3 Mineral Area 85-74 this past Saturday to improve to 18-4 overall with their 8th consecutive victory while posting a 5-0 MCCAC record and 3-0 in Region 16.

“I am pleased we’ve got ranked this late in the season, a sign of respect for what our guys have been doing lately,” said Coach Pat Smith, “However, doesn’t really change much as we focus on improving everyday and getting ready to win the next game. While this team has really improved, we still have too many possessions where we have breakdowns and decreasing those is where our improvement continues. Consistency of effort and execution is a must as you get to this time of the season. We’ve been at this for awhile, but now is the time to “up” our urgency and mindset as we’re now at the time of the season that is most important and your best is needed. We have a very tough schedule ahead but looking forward to the challenges.”

Moberly returns to action this Saturday as they travel to Poplar Bluff, Missouri to play Three Rivers CC with a 7:00 pm tip off.
