Moberly Greyhounds coach Pat Smith has won over 700 games in his NJCAA coaching career. Coach Smith has certainly earned his way as one of three inductees to the 2019 class of the NJCAA Men's Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame. Smith has racked up 716 career wins throughout his NJCAA coaching career which includes stops at Lincoln Land (IL), Wabash Valley (IL), Barton (KS), Jacksonville (TX), and Trinity Valley (TX).The Hounds currently have a record of 15-5 for the 2018-19 season.

In Smith's 33 years of NJCAA coaching, he has accumulated five NJCAA region coach of the year honors (two at Wabash Valley, three at MACC). Coach Smith has guided his programs to 10 consecutive 20-win seasons, five regional championships and four district championships while also finishing inside the final top-20 NJCAA rankings on ten separate occasions. In addition to these accomplishments, Smith has helped over 100 players move on to NCAA Division I programs.

Pat Smith's responsibilities go beyond the court, as he currently serves as the NJCAA Region 16 Men's Director and the Board of Missouri Basketball Coaches Association. Pat has previously served as the NJCAA Region 14 Basketball Coaches Chair.

A Missouri Sports Basketball Hall of Fame inductee, Smith becomes the eighth Moberly Area Community College-affiliated member inducted into the NJCAA Men's Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame.

Smith is a 1981 graduate of Bluefield College in Bluefield, VA.

The NJCAA Men's Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame started in 1984 and now features 156 members. The 2019 Hall of Fame class celebration will be March 18-23 at the NJCAA DI Men's Basketball National Championship in Hutchinson, KS.
