The Moberly Area Community College Men’s Basketball Team improved their record to 24-3 and 5-1 in regional play with an 97-80 victory over Missouri State-West Plains on Wednesday evening at the Fitzsimmons-John Arena in Moberly.
The 14th ranked Greyhounds jumped out to an early 23-10 lead, which they extended to a 53-30 halftime advantage behind 13 points by sophomore guard Delfincko Bogan. West Plains cut the lead to 57-44 before Moberly hit three consecutive three pointers to extend the lead and were never threatened again.
Moberly was led in scoring by Bogan with 21 points, Mar’Qywell Jackson had 18 points, Brandon Better 14 points, Jabari Antwine scored 13 points and Leonard Harper-Baker contributed 11 points and 12 rebounds. Duncan had 25 points, including five three pointers, to lead West Plains.
“I'm really pleased with how our players came out tonight,” said Coach Patrick Smith. “West Plains really concerned me with their skill level and ability to shoot the ball. Thought we played a really solid first half, there was a tremendous lull at the start of the second but we did a decent job of regrouping to finish the game.
Now it’s on to play a State Fair team that’s really starting to play well.” Moberly will travel to State Fair Saturday for a 7:30 pm contest.
