MACC improves to 5-0 in State Fair Classic

The MACC Men’s Basketball Team improved their record to 5-0 with an 86-62 victory over Kennedy King College in the State Fair Laser Image Classic. Moberly opened up an early 18-11 lead that was stretched to 37-28 at the half. After opening up an early 19 point lead in the second half, Kennedy King cut it to 72-62 before the Greyhounds went on a 14-0 run to end the game.

DeMarco Owens lead Moberly in scoring with 23 points and 14 rebounds while sophomore wing Brandon Better continued his hot shooting with 21 points on including 5 three pointers. Sophomore guard Delfincko Bogan added 14 points with 3 treys. Forward Jeremiah Wilson lead Kennedy King in scoring with 15 points while Shamar Denson added 13 points. Moberly improved to 5-0 with the victory.

“We played well at times, but need to be more consistent and able to play better with leads,” said Coach Patrick Smith, “It’s frustrating to have chances to break games open and have breakdowns that contribute to teams continuing to stay in the game. With that said, we did a lot of good things and finished the game really strong.”
