The Moberly Area Comm. College Men’s Basketball Team had some of it’s team members receive All-Region and All-Conference honors as announced this past week. Named to the first Team All Region 16 squad were Brandon Better, Leonard Harper-Baker and Delfincko Bogan.

The All Region Squad is as listed below:

1.  Zac Culbertson (MVP)  Mineral Area
2.  Brandon Better   Moberly
2.  Cameron Reedus (tie)   Three Rivers
4.  Shawn Roundtree  Mineral Area
5.  Leonard Harper-Baker  Moberly
6.  Devin Thomas  Mineral Area
7.  Delfincko Bogan  Moberly
8.  Amir Smith  State Fair
8.  Lamar Morgan  Mineral Area
8.  Gabe Grant  Three Rivers

Better, a 6’2” sophomore wing from Washington, DC, averaged a team high 17.7 points per game and hit 105 three pointers (37%). Harper-Baker averaged 9.3 points per game along with a team high 7.7 rebounds per contest. Bogan scored 12.2 points per contest and also averaged 3.6 assists per game.

Sophomore Wing Mar’Qywell Jackson, PG Jabari Antwine and 6’7” post DeMarco Owens all were named 2nd team All Region.

MCCAC ALL CONFERENCE

The MCCAC All Conference team was announced and Greyhounds Brandon Better, Leonard Harper-Baker and Mar’Qywell Jackson were all named first team All Conference. Zac Culberson from Mineral Area was named Player of the Year, MACC Coach Patrick Smith was announced as Coach of the Year and Three Rivers CC received the Sportsmanship Award. Jackson, from Detroit, Michigan averaged 11.5 points per game along with 4.3 rebounds. Bogan and Antwine were named 2nd Team All Conference.

Moberly finished with a 27-5 record, #16 national ranking in final poll, Region 16 regular season championship, MCCAC Champions and Region 16 Tournament Runner Up finish.

“I’m very proud of these student-athletes for their accomplishments,” said Coach Patrick Smith, “They invested a lot in our team and helped us have an outstanding regular season. Since all are sophomores, we appreciate their contributions and look forward to watching their continued development on and off the court.”
